What’s A Challenge Event?
Challenge Events bring a fresh spin to disc golf, perfect for amateur players looking to mix things up. Each event features its own creative rules—like the “3 Disc Challenge,” “Understable Discs Only,” “2 Putt Challenge,’ and so much more.
How Can I Play From Anywhere?

Choose a challenge, sign up, and secure your spot.
Play On UDisc
On the day of the event, score your round using UDisc while adhering to the challenge rules.
Submit Your Scores
Once your round is complete, submit your scores to claim your reward based on your performance!
Rewards and Ranks
Each Challenge comes with its own unique challenge coin, available in seven different colors or ranks. These ranks add an extra layer of bragging rights to your achievements!
Gold – Pro Status
You’re the kind of player who doesn’t just aim for the basket—you call your shots and then nail them. Precision, power, and a little bit of swagger. Gold players inspire envy and fear in equal measure. You’re here to win, plain and simple.
Orange – Advanced Player
You’ve mastered the art of bending your disc around trees like it’s part of the plan (because it is). You know your discs inside and out, and your bag is dialed in. Consistently challenging yourself, you're just a step away from going full-on pro.
Blue – Intermediate Challenger
You’re no longer getting lost in the woods (most of the time), and your drives are finally making it past the teebox. You’ve got a solid arsenal of throws and strategies, but every round still teaches you something new.
White – Casual Enthusiast
You’ve played enough to know a backhand from a forehand, and you occasionally surprise yourself with a great shot. You’re here for the fun, the outdoors, and maybe a few bragging rights when you sink a long putt.
Red – Beginner on the Rise
Your goal? Keep it in the fairway and avoid losing another disc in the water hazard. You’re still figuring out the difference between “stable” and “overstable,” but your enthusiasm is through the roof. Dont worry, you’re apart of the majority. We all know if that tree wasnt there, it would have been an ace. Every game is a new adventure.
Green – Fresh Thrower
You’re brand new to the sport, probably throwing with that starter set you grabbed on impulse (or as a gift). Your technique might need work, but you’re having a blast learning the ropes. Watch out, world—you’re just getting started.
Purple – Wildcard Player
You don’t fit the mold, and that’s what makes you dangerous. Maybe you’re a trick shot specialist, maybe you’re inconsistent but capable of brilliance, or maybe you’re just here to shake things up. Whatever it is, nobody sees you coming.
How We Determine Ranks
We use UDisc's average score for your chosen course and layout as our baseline to determine ranking requirements.
For example: If the average score is 58 (or +8), we use that as our baseline for the average player and adjust the required scores for each rank accordingly.
Gold - (-7) or 43
Orange - (-2) or 48
Blue - (+3) or 53
White - (+8) or 58 (average score)
Red - (+13) or 63
Green - (+18) or 68
Purple - (+23) or 73+
Average scores for each layout may change over time, so we'll always use the most current averages.
Universal average scores can be found by going to the course and then leaderboards where you'll find the world icon next to the universal average for that course and layout.
F.A.Q
Do I need to play with someone during the challenge?
Nope! While it's always fun to have a buddy to critique your form (or lack thereof), you can absolutely play a solo round. Just stick to the challenge rules and keep it honest—your only competition is yourself (and maybe that pesky squirrel who keeps stealing your discs).
Do my cardmates have to be in the challenge?
Not at all. Your friends can join you without officially participating. Just give them a heads-up that you're on a mission, and maybe they'll be inspired to join next time.
How do I submit scores?
On challenge day, we'll send you a special link via email or text. Use it to upload your scores. It's as easy as sinking a 3-foot putt (minus the nerves).
How do I find the Universal Average Score (UAS)?
Head to your chosen course and layout, scroll down to the leaderboard, and look for the score marked with a globe icon. That's your UAS—the benchmark to beat!
What is the Disc Golf Challenge?
The Disc Golf Challenge (DGC) is a nationwide program designed to improve your disc golf skills and showcase your achievements. It involves unique challenges like putting twice for each hole or limiting yourself to three discs for an entire round. Think of it as leveling up in your favorite video game, but in real life.
Where can I participate in the Disc Golf Challenge?
Anywhere in the country! The challenges are not location-based, allowing for flexible participation that fits your schedule and location. Whether you're in the mountains or by the beach, the DGC is ready when you are.
What are Challenge Coins?
Challenge Coins are 1-inch collectible tokens you earn by completing challenges or achievements. They fit perfectly inside a Challenge Mini, allowing you to showcase your accomplishments every time you mark your lie. It's like earning badges in Scouts, but way cooler.
What is a Challenge Mini?
A Challenge Mini is a special disc golf mini marker designed to display your earned challenge coins. It can hold up to 6 challenge coins (5 on the outside, 1 on the inside) using a strong magnet. Coins can be removed by pressing on the bottom of the mini. It's the ultimate bling for your disc golf game.
